Skin I
Performance
2019
Skin I investigates the remnants of trauma. The performance shows pomegranates strained through four yards of embroidered cheesecloth. The cloth includes written accounts of experience, to serve as an intimate portrayal of memory. The red stain of the pomegranate depicts trauma as a wound, consistently present. Through the domestic utilization of cheesecloth, when unwrapped, the pearls of pomegranate are collected, counted, and stored.
